Changes in Colorado's Lending Laws
Although Colorado’s payday lending laws have changed, the service you’ll receive at Moneytree remains the same. Beginning August 11, 2010, Colorado customers can take out a Moneytree Small Loan and have 6 months to repay their loan!
How Did Colorado's Loan Laws Change?
- Small Loans range from $100 - $500, in even hundred dollar increments.
- Loan payments will be set up in six substantially equal installments, starting one month from the date you take out the loan.
- The cost of a loan is broken up into the three sections shown below:
- Interest Rate: 45% per annum simple interest
- Origination Fee: 20% of the amount financed for the first $300 and 7.5% of the amount financed on amounts above $300
- Maintenance Fee: 7.5% of the amount financed up to a maximum of $30 per month (this fee is waived during the first month of the loan)

How Do I Qualify For a Loan?
To qualify for a loan, you must have written verification of your income and an open, active checking account. We also need to be able to confirm your home address and your contact phone numbers.
How Does Moneytree Determine How Much I Can Borrow?
Colorado law allows us to lend you up to $500 or 25% of your gross monthly income, whichever is less. Small loans range from $100 - $500, in even hundred dollar increments. Actual loan limits are set within these guidelines and based on the information you provide. Your loan limit may change if your income changes or if our ability to contact you changes. How Do I Repay My Loan?
Payments will be set up in six substantially equal installments, starting one month from the date you take out the loan. At the time of your loan, you can choose to make these payments electronically or by bringing in monthly cash payments. Other payment options may also be available - ask your customer service representative for details.
