Senior Paralegal

The Senior Paralegal is a well-rounded, professional and energetic team-player with a positive attitude and will be working with the Company’s attorneys to deliver legal and administrative support across various Departments and functions including employment practices, real estate and debt collection activity. 

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and organizes comprehensive, up-to-date, Department electronic and paper files
  • Provides litigation support; such as research, document collection, review, organization, and production of various work products including summaries of articles, reports, legislation, witness statements and depositions
  • Conducts factual and legal research and analysis
  • Drafting and/or providing administrative assistance to support maintenance of the Company’s business licenses and regulatory annual reports
  • Provides cite-checking, document assessment and proofreading
  • Drafts and revises legal documents and correspondence
  • Maintains and tracks document preservation notices
  • Responds to third-party legal and regulatory processes including subpoenas, summons, and preservation of documents notices; and obtaining documents from various Departments to prepare written responses to requests
  • Manages administration of various corporate meetings including maintaining the corporate minute book; and preparation of corporate resolutions and consents
  • Maintains a library of approved form documents, contract clauses, templates, and historical documents
  • Maintains comprehensive archive for contract documentation and calendars contract events such as notice periods, renewals, and termination
  • Assists in lease negotiations, renewals, and maintenance including CAMs reconciliation matters.
  • Provides administrative assistance related to maintenance of the Company’s assets and banking relationships including facilitating UCC filings
  • Provides administrative assistance related to the Company’s debt collection activities including third party vendor, regulatory or private agency, and bankruptcy court interactions
  • Provides administrative assistance as otherwise needed to support the Company’s attorneys.
  • Assists in processing and tracking vendor invoices

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 5 + years of paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Paralegal Certificate and Valid Notary Public Certification
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated legal research and document/information management skills
  • Experience supporting an employment practice, corporate or real estate practice group
  • Experience drafting and filing documents with state and local governments such as annual statements and business licenses.
  • Knowledge of financial services industry including products, service, regulatory laws, rules, and guidance
  • General familiarity and knowledge of vendor contracts and their component parts, such as MSAs and SOWs
  • Knowledge of UCC filing and bankruptcy proceedings
  • Experience with NMLS (Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry)
  • Problem solving and analytical abilities
