Assistant Compliance Director

The Assistant Compliance Director is responsible for assisting the Compliance Director in the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the Company’s Compliance Management System.  This position documents, organizes and implements the Company’s compliance activities including monitoring, training, testing, and reporting.  The Assistant Compliance Director participates in state and federal examinations, and ensures that state and federal reports are compiled and filed on a timely basis.  The Assistant Compliance Director may also develop and deliver training, participate in vendor management, draft and manage policies and procedures, and oversee the timely follow up to examinations and audits.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the ongoing maintenance of compliance Policies and programs, including:  AML/BSA, OFAC, FDCPA, UDAAP, FCRA, ECOA, Reg Z, Reg B, and EFTA.
  • Conduct ongoing regulatory risk assessments, documenting results and following up on action items.  
  • Manage and develop members of the Compliance Team.
  • Document, monitor and report on internal compliance controls.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training.
  • Perform Compliance review of documentation, forms, advertising, etc.
  • Communicate and escalate issues to the Compliance Director when appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a compliance related role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a commitment to assume responsibility and effectively collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state financial services industry regulation.
  • Knowledge of consumer protection laws.
  • Ability to write clearly, summarize key points, and provide analysis of comprehensive written material.
  • Excellent communication skills, research, writing and analytical skills; sound judgment, ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel may be required.
