Why do people choose to cash checks with Moneytree when they have a bank account?

Moneytree offers a quick and convenient check cashing option. Moneytree is open extended hours when most banks are closed. Moneytree gives you immediate cash rather than requiring you to wait days for your money. As it has become more common for banks to refuse to cash some checks, Moneytree check cashing services offer a convenient, quick alternative. Many bank representatives refer their customers to Moneytree when they have to refuse to cash a check because of the bank's stringent guidelines.

How much does it cost to cash a check?

Moneytree charges a small percentage of the face amount of the check. While rates are regulated in certain states, it is our goal to charge a competitive rate in all markets. Rates are posted at your store. Plus, money orders are always free when you are cashing a check at Moneytree.

Why do people choose a payday loan to borrow money for a short period of time?

Surveys show that while most people typically do a good job of managing their household budgets, most of us need occasional help. An increasing number of consumers choose a payday loan to cover unexpected expenses or to bridge a short-term cash shortage between paydays. A payday loan is a short-term loan that provides a sensible alternative to bounced checks, late payment charges or a tarnished credit rating.

How often do people typically borrow money?

A Payday Loan is a short-term loan to cover an occasional, unexpected cash shortage between paydays. A Payday Loan does not provide the kind of help intended if used repeatedly to the point of incurring additional debt. We recommend that you investigate other financing options if you are planning on borrowing money beyond your next payday.

How does Moneytree determine how much I can borrow?

State laws generally regulate the amount of money that can be loaned. Within that limit, Moneytree qualifies you to borrow only an amount you can reasonably repay from your next paycheck.

What if I change my mind about borrowing the money?

Moneytree gives you the opportunity to rescind, at no cost, a Payday Loan transaction on or before the close of the following business day.

How does Moneytree determine what to charge?

State laws typically regulate loan fees. It is our goal to offer loans at a competitive rate.

Does Moneytree vary the loan fee based on my credit rating?

Although banks and other financial institutions charge varying rates depending on a customer's credit-worthiness, Moneytree charges a standard rate to all customers. Moneytree does not review your credit report, but bases our lending decision on your ability to repay your loan.

If a payday loan is quick and simple, why is there so much information on the Loan Agreement and Disclosure Statement?

The Loan Agreement and Disclosure Statement is a contract between you and Moneytree. It outlines the terms of the loan, including the cost of the loan expressed as a dollar amount and as an annual percentage rate. It is Moneytree's intent that you understand all of the terms of the loan prior to completing the transaction.

What happens if I cannot repay Moneytree on my due date?

We know that it is your intention to repay your loan on the due date. It is our goal to loan only as much as you can comfortably repay on your next payday. However, the answer to this question depends upon the state in which your loan originated.
