CFSA is the only national membership trade association that provides services exclusively to the payday advance industry. CFSA members represent approximately two-thirds of this market segment with more than 8,000 stores nationwide. CFSA is actively involved with policy makers in all 50 states as well as the nation's capitol to promote legislation and regulation that balances the interests of members with substantive consumer protections that ensure responsible and informed use of the product. CFSA Members and Board of Directors represent the leaders in the industry. The California Financial Service Providers Association represents the payday advance industry in California. In 1999, the association renamed itself the California Financial Service Providers, as the organization represents the interests of companies that provide several different financial services, including payday advances and check cashing. The organization was formerly known as the California Check Cashers Association, founded on November 29, 1950. CFSP works with state legislators and local officials to promote regulations that protect the rights of both consumers and businesses. The Association also educates its members on fair practices in conducting payday advance services.

Established in 1987, COFISCA has become the most recognized locally-based community financial services association in the state of Colorado. COFISCA’s primary mission is to bring a broad range of community-based financial services businesses together with the goal of identifying industry best practices, improving customer satisfaction and establishing guidelines that assist members in complying with various state and federal regulations. COFISCA members are dedicated to delivering valued financial services to underserved consumers in a consistent and professional manner throughout the state of Colorado.
