Puget Sound Business Journal's "Most Philanthropic Companies"

Moneytree has appeared eight times on the Puget Sound Business Journal’s annual list of most philanthropic companies in Washington. Finalists on the Puget Sound Business Journal’s philanthropic list exemplify commitment to improving Washington State and contributing to their community. Moneytree is a proud supporter of charitable organizations that devote their efforts to children’s causes, financial literacy, job training and education, cancer research; and helping families in transition and victims of natural disasters.

Moneytree was recognized for efforts supporting the Association of Washington State Hispanic Chambers of Commerce, Childhaven, First Place School, Food Lifeline, Heritage University, SeaMar, and the University of Washington – Business & Economic Development Center.

FiSCA's ACTIVA Award

For the tenth time, the Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) awarded Moneytree the prestigious Activa Award for Moneytree’s outstanding community service to nonprofit organizations. This year, the 2009 ACTIVA Award was presented to Moneytree for its partnership and support of the Urban League of San Diego County, a community-based organization committed to closing equality gaps for people at all economic stages of life and helping individuals and communities reach their fullest potential.

Started by Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA) in 1999, the Activa Awards program highlights the outstanding contributions that members make to improve the quality of life in communities across the country. Moneytree is proud to actively support and play a vital role in making those communities better places to live and work.

Gail Bereny Award for Outstanding Leadership – First Place School

Moneytree CEO and co-founder Dennis Bassford was honored by First Place School with the Gail Bereny Award for Outstanding Leadership. The award was presented during First Place School’s 20th Anniversary Gala on September 19, 2008. The award honors those who set a high standard in philanthropic leadership at First Place and in the community.

First Place School is a Seattle-based organization that educates and nurtures children whose families struggle with the risk or reality of homelessness. Additionally they offer housing, culturally relevant education and support services that enable families to achieve permanent stability. Moneytree is proud to have supported First Place's mission since 2001.
